Description
The extensive photos are an absolute testament to this truly great Suffix A. An extensive rebuild by the owner and proprietor of Bishops 4X4 between 2012 & 2014 culminated in a six page feature in the ‘International Landrover Magazine’ in 2014 (magazine included) has been the highlight in the last two decades.
With £000’s spent by me in the last 6 months to bring the car back to its former glory after 10 years of dry storage, it is now ready to be used, fettled and displayed by its new custodian.
While not considered concours it is in excellent all round condition and prestige in the areas that really matter. Minor body nighles have been properly cleaned and treated so the new owner can satisfy their own level of ocd if necessary, but certainly not mandatory! (Various panels including the bonnet have been professionally re-painted).
To summarise, recent improvements have included:
03. 06. 24: New rear heated screen and upper tailgate frame.
10. 03. 25: Mechanical check over and engine tune up.
30. 06. 25: New fuel tank and fuel pump and replaced fuel lines (ethanol resistant). Replaced fuel filter in filter bowl.
09. 12. 25: Original steel wheels fully refurbished with new Blockley and retaining nuts. (NB: Spare not shown in photos as it is currently being shot blasted and powder coated to match the new wheels on the vehicle).
20. 01. 26: Fill major service at Kingsley Range Rover specialist, replaced both swivel housing seals and both rear shock absorbers and hangers.
10. 02. 26: complete dry ice clean to underside including removal of all old Hammerite and surface rust. Wheel arched and floor pans re-coated with black Shultz and chassis coated in satin stonechip. Then full coating of Bilthammer sync UN including drain holes and ancillaries.
15. 04. 26: Bonnet repainted and mirror locations strengthened. O/ s door post stripped with new metal and a re-paint. Bottom of n/ s door and bottom of tailgate stripped and repainted. Also, a couple of other scrapes repainted to front and rear wings.
Although Mot, tax and Ullez exempt an advisory free MOT was obtained from 23rd April 2026 which should give the new custodian additional re-assurance.
Being a serial Classic car owner I will really miss this car so hopefully no-one will want to buy it too quickly!
On a serious note, the car is priced comparatively, given its condition and although there may be a small margin of negotiation I not interested in any silly offers.
Any inspection welcome, and in fact recommended until 10th May 2026 and then post 12th June 2026.
