This is a beautiful example of one of the finest designs produced by Bristol craftsmen.
An extensive restoration programme was carried out on this car between 2007 and 2009, with detailed documentation showing the work done. The inner wheel arches were relined and outer rear chassis out riggers replaced, before bodywork was meticulously prepared and re-sprayed in Porsche "Konigsblau"(Royal Blue) .
This restoration included the addition of a 4-speed ZF Automatic gearbox, replacing the standard 3-speed factory fitted gearbox, resulting in reduced RPM and effortless motorway cruising.
Part of the restoration work included fitting head restraints to the front seats.
The car has covered a low mileage in recent years. MOT records confirm that between 2014 and 2024, only 4, 794 miles were covered. When not in use, we understand, the car has been garaged; its condition is a testament to the way it has been cared for.
Before the car was sold to its present owner in December 2023, a full examination was carried out by Spencer Lane Jones ltd.,(SLJ) who reported that the car appeared to be structurally sound and only in need of a few minor repairs. These were listed by SLJ, and have since been carried out by Bristol cars specialists, under the instructions ( and to the cost of) the cars' present owner.
Extensive refurbishment of the cars' front suspension has recently been carried out, by a leading Bristol Car specialist company, Including replacement of all warn bearings and joints in both steering and suspension. Part of the suspension overhaul included replacing the existing shock absorbers, with correctly rated Koni shock absorbers, all round.
The same company replaced inlet manifold and repaired leaking exhaust engine manifolds to leave the engine serviced and running superbly.
This company also fitted the additional feature of a Speed Hold system. The speed control is activated by a convenient control column-mounted stalk,(borrowed from the later 411's.)
This car now has a discreet reversing camera/ park-distance control system, as well as rear seat belts fitted by the the same Bristol Car specialist.
Another specialist company has recently re-finished the upholstery, and fitted new, quality carpets throughout. the carpets are all fully trimmed and edged, even in the luggage compartment.
No expense has been spared to ensure that SCK109K is presented in superb order. it is undoubtedly a rare car; combining Stunning Royal blue exterior wuith Tan leather interior seating. SCK109K has cover very few miles since its extensive refurbishment in 2007-2009. In fact it looks as if the work was completed much more recently.
The 4-speed gearbox is a rare feature, that belongs to the later 411s, and helps to increase the MPG.
Part of the refurbishment included a replacement carburettor for a more efficient type, aiding economy. The old mechanical type fuel pump has been replaced with an electric one giving instant starting. This car has so many desirable attributes.
