Description
924S in great unrestored condition. Very good original paint all round including engine bay. Black interior including Porsche script seats is very good, almost unmarked. Original carpets and boot cover. Good working order including Targa roof mechanism.
It has power steering but the aircon hasn't worked since I bought it in 1998.
ULEZ, MOT and tax exempt from 2/ 8/ 2026. Last MOT 9/ 2025.
Originally supplied by Lancaster Porsche of Colchester on 1/ 8/ 1986 and has had 3 previous owners.
I have kept it garaged throughout. In 2005 it experienced some intermittent electrical issues, at which point I stopped driving it completely. They were solved in 2021, I spent £4k on it to get it back in full roadworthy condition and it's been used occasionally since. It's been driven sparingly throughout its life, as evidenced in the extensive paperwork (MOT's from 1990 onwards, bills and service history back to 1987), hence the low mileage. Original instrument cluster/ odometer failed, I still have it (see picture). 18k miles on original, plus a further 32k on the current one, so 51k overall. I've always thought the 924S is very undervalued compared to other classics which do not approach its engineering and build quality. They handle well and are fun to drive, and the 924S has a decent turn of speed. Arguably better than the original 944, due the reduced weight and better aerodynamics.
It has had a very cossetted life for the near 3 decades that I have owned it; the two previous owners are friends, so I have almost complete knowledge of its provenance and treatment.
It has original Porsche Driver's manual and huge MOT/ service record. Water pump, timing belt etc were done less than 500 miles ago, as was a service. £3, 500 spent in the last 6 months. A further £4, 000 spent in 2021 to put it back on the road. 2, 000 miles driven since then.
