1993 Saab 900 S Convertible – £8, 700 spent since 2022, Inc FPT conversion, New Hood, Suspension and brake upgrades, Extensively Maintained, Specialist History
A genuinely well-sorted example of the iconic Saab 900 Convertible, benefiting from years of careful ownership and substantial mechanical investment. Much of the work carried out by respected Saab specialist Paradise Workshop (Ampfield) and Frenchmoor Racing, West Tytherley.
This car has been maintained with a focus on reliability and drivability, with many of the known weak points addressed — making it an ideal usable classic rather than a project. A very reliable car that’s taken me on many memorable journeys. Spare set of minilte wheels included in sale, see picture. Unfortunately I’ve swapped the Bluetooth stereo in the pics for an older blaupunkt cd unit.
Recent investment (over £6, 000 since early 2025):
* New mohair hood with refurbished frame, latches and fittings
* Saabits sport suspension upgrade
* Saab 9000 front brake upgrade
* FPT intercooler kit
* Full clutch system replacement and gearbox seal
* Wheel refurbishment and new bearing
* Dinitrol underbody protection (Dec 2025)
History since 2022 includes:
* Cylinder head removal, skim and full top-end work
* Timing chain replacement
* Clutch and flywheel upgrade
* ABS system repairs
* Chassis welding and rust prevention
* Fuel pump, driveshaft and ongoing maintenance
Condition:
The car presents well and drives exactly as it should, with a strong engine and solid mechanical feel.
Paintwork was resprayed previously in “Rosso Caterpillar” and still looks smart, though not perfect.
There are minor rust spots beginning at wheel arch corners, as expected for age. No other rust.
Interior is particularly good, with leather seats showing only light wear. The wood trim on the dash board has age related cracks, though the top of the dash is sold with no cracks - a common problem.
Summary:
An honest, mechanically sorted Saab 900 Convertible with the right money spent in the right areas.
Not a show car, but a proper driver’s classic ready to be used and enjoyed. Only selling as I have purchased a Hatchback 900 turbo
