Description
1950 Mercedes-Benz 170V Krankenwagen is a true rarity. According to official data, the model I'm offering was body-built only in 1949 and 1950 by Lueg Bochum in Germany. Daimler-Benz produced just 1, 338 170V chassis during that time, used for station wagons, vans, taxis, and ambulances. Only a few hundred ambulances were built, and very few survived.
This example is a truly original piece. It spent most of its life parked in the garage of a Swiss hospital, and it was there forgotten. Mercedes came to Poland in 2008 and underwent restoration for the next two years. It is truly original. All the windows and seats, including the upholstery, are still factory-installed. The car is equipped with turn signals, fantastic Bosch headlights, incredible and functional emergency sirens, original stretchers, and other hard-to-find details characteristic of the Krankenwagen.
Car is in very good condition but it is old renovation. It drives wonderfully, has a fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox, and hydraulic four-wheel brakes. The 1. 7-liter engine has 4 cylinders and produces 38 hp.
