With an excellent power to weight ratio coupled with amazing handling characteristics, it was no surprise that for a golden period they were the go to for sports car racing drivers in the know. This particular Turner is supplied with the most amazing document portfolio, not only for Turners, but of any historic vehicle.
In 1977 the car was sold to a motoring journalist the Netherlands and by 1985 had arrived in the hands of the previous owner to myself, who must take all the credit for one of the most meticulous and exacting restorations ever carried out.
Supplied documented photos and descriptions of the build, information on all previous owners and copies of correspondence from Wing Commander “Mac” Mackenzie (look him up, he had an incredible flying career and also authored a book describing his life as a flyer), confirming the car’s provenance.
Comprehensive folders outlining the history of Turner Cars and Jack Turner, the incredible engineer and founder of the company, coupled with drawings and copies of magazines, make this particular vehicle and collection not only fascinating but an important historical addition to mid century automotive history.
