Description
1971 MGB Roadster 2+2 Conversion
I purchased this car in 2023 from a long-time family friend who was sadly no longer able to use or enjoy it due to ill health. He is believed to have been the second owner from new and had owned the car for over 35 years.
Originally built as a standard MGB Roadster, the car was professionally converted into a rare 2+2 four-seater by Befour Conversions. From my research, it is believed that only around 20 of these conversions were ever completed, making this a very unusual and rarely seen example.
The car is running and driving well, with a strong engine that pulls nicely. Research into the engine number suggests it is fitted with a desirable Gold Seal engine.
Condition-wise, the car shows signs of age as expected for a 1971 vehicle, but the bodywork is very solid overall. There is a substantial history folder included containing invoices, paperwork, and photographs documenting the conversion and ownership history.
Recent work carried out in 2023 includes:
* New clutch fitted
* Front crossmember refurbished
* Front brakes overhauled
* Electronic Ignition Fitted
Since then, the car has covered less than 300 miles.
The vehicle is both tax and MOT exempt.
This is a difficult sale due to the sentimental attachment, however the car simply is not being used and deserves to go to someone with the time to enjoy and preserve it properly.
The registration number alone has been independently valued at approximately £2, 000. I am still considering whether to retain the registration, depending on interest in the vehicle as a whole.
Due to the rarity of the conversion, it has been difficult to accurately value as there are very few comparable examples available.
Serious enquiries welcome. A very unique car that will be hard to find another example of.
A real head turner in with the Stunning Primrose Yellow Paint.
Perfect for british summer time.
