Austin Healey 3000 BT7/ Mk1 LHD
This May 1960 car was imported back to the UK from the USA in November 2017 to undergo a full, professional restoration and is now available for sale.
The car presents itself very well. All mechanical, electrical and trim have been finished to the highest standard either by restoring the original parts or replacing them with good quality items from AH Spares.
The car performs extremely well and all equipment functions correctly, including the overdrive. The oil pressure is healthy and no signs of mechanical issues or fluid leaks.
The hood is a new mohair item and the seats have been recovered in black leather and the carpets renewed with high-quality items. All interior fittings and brightwork are in great shape and it feels like a "new" car in the cabin.
The Old English white paintwork is applied over a fully rebuilt body, using heritage panels, again from AH Spares and presents itself very well. There is a minor mark next to the boot and some chip repairs to the right-hand rear wing edge, but apart from that is in great order. The door gaps aren't quite perfect, but in reality, they probably never were from the factory. The chrome and brightwork are extremely good and finish the exterior perfectly.
The car is supplied with its Heritage certificate which confirms it has been restored to its original specification. It is also supplied with the restoration invoices which show the restoration cost (circa £100K) far exceeds the sale price, which is often the case when the restoration is done to this level. The car did pass a UK MOT test in 2021 without any advisories. If you are intending to purchase for a left-hand drive country, you will need to ensure the headlamps are swapped.
The car can be exported worldwide as required.
