Description
Citroën Dyane Capra (1981) – rare special edition, original & rust-free
For sale is an exceptionally well-preserved Citroën Dyane Capra from 1981, a special edition released in Spain in a numbered run of only 600 units. It has a few features compared to the standard model; different bumpers, two rubber mounts on the bonnet, distinctive hubcaps and the logos on the bonnet, doors and rear. It already has front vent windows as well as disc brakes on the front and rear.
The vehicle is in absolute original, unmodified condition – rust-free, unwelded and technically as well as aesthetically well maintained. The Dyane comes from a second-hand Scandinavian owner who used it for most of its life at his holiday home in the Spanish coastal town of Denia. The mild climate there explains the excellent bodywork and the low mileage of only around 35, 000 km.
After import to Germany in 2018, a full TÜV inspection including classic car registration was carried out, which the vehicle passed without objections – only the yellow front headlamp bulbs were replaced, and a hazard warning flasher was retrofitted. Since then the Dyane has undergone TÜV three times with virtually fault-free results; it can also be brought back to showroom-new upon request.
Since the purchase by me in 2018 it has stood dry and protected in a garage and was only driven in the summer, a total of around 1, 500 km.
Current research suggests it may be the only example of a Dyane Capra in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; in Spain there are apparently only two to three more vehicles.
The car also comes with a few extras: a satellite image from Google Maps of its location in Spain, contemporaneous promotional material from Spaniards and magazines in which the special edition was mentioned.
A rare, honest and collectible automobile in untouched original condition – for lovers of French-Spanish classics with history.
