Description
This is my wife’s BMW M3. It has a large history file and is currently MOT’d until August 2026.
In my ownership it has had shock absorbers, coil springs, calipers and discs. It had a new radiator three years ago and just 250 miles ago an upgraded differential. It has four as new tyres on genuine AC Schnitzer alloy wheels.
It has a ‘purple tag’ steering unit and new track rod ends. The steering wheel was refinished by Royal Steering Wheels and a resonated cat-back Scorpion Stainless steel exhaust. We bought this 10 years ago and my wife would drive this to car shows and I would take my M5. This last few years though we just travel together in the one car.
A change in our personal circumstances and the fact this little car just doesn’t get used means we are going to sell it. We had the troublesome electric roof replaced with a genuine manual roof. We had the hardtop repainted, but we have not had any other parts of the car painted. I’m pretty sure it has had paint in the past, though I don’t know where exactly. There is a colour discrepancy on the rear o/ s so it has probably been repaired or at least painted there.
It has genuine AC Schnitzer alloys, wing mirrors and pedals. It is kept indoors on a carpeted floor and was only ever used in the summer and only on dry days. In my opinion, all classic cars require on going maintenance and repairs and this one is no different.
I still have the original clear indicators and headlights, but I like the contrast between the amber indicators and blue paint, and the angel eyes in the upgraded headlights.
These are an iconic car and get a lot of attention when taking it for a spin and they are one of the fastest affordable appreciating classics, with some examples making upwards of £30, 000 at auction. The car is located in Royal Hillsborough, Northern Ireland, 20 minutes from either airport.
