L'Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale today an absolute rarity: a BMW M3 E36 GT2, in its original Imola Red configuration with Anthracite Alcantara interior and red leather inserts. Produced in only 50 examples with right-hand drive, this exclusive version of the M3 E36, often referred to as a GT2, GT Evo or Individual, embodies the ultimate in racing-derived road evolution.
Designed as a nod to BMW purists across the Channel, the M3 GT2 was created to satisfy both the whims of a demanding British clientele and the homologation criteria of the M3 GTR competing in FIA GT and IMSA.
It features a unique configuration: a special rear spoiler, an adjustable front spoiler blade, 17-inch forged aluminium wheels and lightweight aluminium doors, complemented by an exclusive interior design combining anthracite alcantara and Imola Red leather in the finest Motorsport tradition.
Technically, this edition is based on the M3 E36 3. 2L (S50B32), producing 321 bhp and mated to a Getrag 6-speed manual gearbox, which is renowned for its vigour and sound, propelling the GT2 from 0 to 100 km/ h in 5. 4 seconds. The reinforced M3 chassis, oversized brakes and sports suspension ensure exemplary handling on both road and track. Our example, No. 9, bears the chassis number EA90881. Delivered new in the UK, it changed ownership in 2010 and then spent a few years in Northern Ireland before being imported into France in 2015, in Tours.

Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition. The engine starts easily, runs perfectly smoothly and climbs straight up the rev range, all enhanced by a stainless steel mid-line that adds character without altering the original sound. The 6-speed gearbox is firm, precise and pleasant to handle, perfectly synchronised with the clutch, which shows no signs of wear. The running gear is sound, with no play, and the steering remains precise in all circumstances, all helped by quality Bilstein shock absorbers. Powerful, well-balanced braking completes the overall driving pleasure of this exceptional M3. The M double-spoke alloy wheels have been refurbished and fitted with Yokohama tyres in excellent condition. Aesthetically, the car is in exceptional condition.
The Imola Red paintwork has a beautiful, homogenous sheen, the bodywork alignments are excellent and the underpinnings are sound and free from corrosion. The interior, in its exclusive configuration, is in perfect condition.
