Description
1954 Fiat Topolino C Giardinetta metal toy, dark red and ivory, with the original brown vinyl upholstery. Absolutely sound car, but the paint is worn — it’s already gone matte. And, according to the previous owner, who kept it for almost fifty years, it looked like this even back in the 1970s. In any case, I can confirm it’s very solid as a body. Registration and documents are all up to date, it starts, but it’s been standing for a few years, so before you put it back on the road it needs a general check. Apart from an oil change and replacing all the rubber hoses, the braking system will definitely need reviewing and it would suit it to have four new tyres. If you don’t have too many expectations, or if you like cars with a bit of history and signs of time (patina), you can keep it just like this — at least where the bodywork is concerned. Plus, the rear seats can be folded down, so that behind you get a nice flat loading surface straight across. It also has a long opening roof — back then, they really thought of everything to give better comfort and, above all, greater functionality. A car not just for the family, but also for work — at least in the golden years, when cars were for the few, and a real luxury. Visible in Silea, Treviso, Italy.
