Description

Please take a look at this senior/ collector-owned concourse-restored low mileage 1968 Mercedes Benz 250SL Pagoda restored by 2 well known Mercedes-only national restorers: Max Scroggs of the Better Wrench and Bud's Benz to achieve this level. As for the model listing details offered by this website, I was uncertain of some of the Euro-details requested so that info may not be entirely accurate. Unlike some survivors or otherwise restored examples, this has been a very methodic multi-year restoration by some of the best to achieve this like-new condition of a rust-free example. I don't expect to sell even the most informed buyer via an online ad and for those reasons I encourage a personal inspection of the merits of this car. The car is Papyrus White over red leather---both in nearly perfect condition. Some of the rarest options include: Fuel Injection, Factory AC, and 4spd manual transmission. As a former claims inspector I note only a slight 2 imperfections worthy of consideration:1: The canvas soft top left rear lower corner has some v. small wear spots evident. These appear to be more of a scuff, but does not detract greatly from its presentation. Of course this is not visible at all when the soft top is down. 2: Driver Door trim panel has a small foot scuff on the door. It could use a mild leather repair and marhyde finish the panel to be perfect. The car is all-steel, no filler, no rust, no damage to anything. Engine & Trans both professionally rebuilt, starts & works easily every time. Runs very quiet. All panels are beautifully aligned save for the decklid due to a new weatherstrip that has not yet settled down for proper fitment. All chrome and brightwork are undamaged and beautifully re-chromed to like new. Glass is clear and undamaged. Tires have little to no wear. No curb rash on any wheel covers. There is a hardtop color-coded white with a stand that goes with the car. The trunk floor is solid/ immaculate. There is a matching model car that goes with the purchase and a sign for car shows with all pertinent details. There is a like-new soft cover. The car is carefully documented with a binder full of invoices, cancelled checks & Other details to thoroughly document the merits of this car. I hope to have a video of it once the rain in our area stops. Car is mechanically sound. The price is the price. The owner pays me to store his beautiful cars so I'm not a party to any sale. No trades. Lien-free title in hand. Please call for inspection/ purchase. I live on a country mini-farm with so so cell coverage. If I should miss the call I will get back to you. Please also text me as a backup to assure my timely response. In 35+ years of being in antique car clubs, this is perhaps the best restoration I've seen on a MB to a like-new quality for every detail if that's important. As a former AACA Board Member, I've sold 2 other beautifully restored Pagoda MB's for this affluent car club, but neither were done anywhere near the excellent restoration of this candidate. I would submit this may be among the best in the country for its merits. I invite you to decide that for yourself. The owner has other expensive collectible cars, but this is the crown jewel of his collection.
