1994 VW Polo GT Coupe 38K from new. A very original example with 4 recorded owners. Never modified or altered in any way unlike the majority of them over the years. Less than 50 currently taxed and on the road making it a very rare VW indeed.
This car has been off the road stored under cover for 20 years prior to me purchasing it from a deceased estate. Upon arrival a very comprehensive recommissioning / restoration has been undertaken resulting in many safety critical suspension and braking parts being replaced with OEM quality replacements. (Please ask for further details if required). Upon starting the restoration it became clear that being carefully and occasional used in the South West of England had kept this vehicle in a very solid condition underneath requiring only minimal work to the floor sills and factory applied underseal. To keep it this way it has been subject to a fresh application of cavity wax rustproofing and lanoguard in all voids in the body.
The car presents itself very well, the paintwork hides nothing being the original Tornado Red applied when new in May 1994. Due to age, use and storage it is not perfect but retains its story with the patina you would expect. (A walk round whatsapp chat can be done upon request). As can be expected the interior has very little wear and has been subject to a comprehensive wash and clean after careful removal from the car. There are two small burns done a long time gone by both out of sight one on the carpet and one on the drivers seat base.
I have fully restored a few VWs to show standard previously and I can report that this car now drives as a Polo GT did when brand new and It is without doubt one of the best Polo GTs left in the UK . However due to coming from a deceased estate there was very little paperwork with this car basically a couple of old mix tapes and its tax disc. Upon sale of the car I can supply a full report of the car when bought, full report on work undertaken and a comprehensive list of the many parts inspected and replaced. (Please note I have kept certain components for further condition inspection as they appeared to be perfectly serviceable.) Rest assured no stone has been left unturned mechanically and electrically making this car in as best possible condition it could be in.
This car was one of the last Mk2Fs off the production line in May 1994 being registered on the road in September of that year. Living where it did for 33 years there was only bits of straw and mud underneath it with no deposits of road salt to be found anywhere. (Every part of the car has been inspected with the help of an endoscopic camera!)
The car performs and handles remarkably well by todays standards. But remember being from another era of motoring it doesn't have power steering, no power windows, no sat nav, no display screen. That being said it should be more reliable than any that have!
Viewing is by appointment only, test drives upon proof of valid insurance cover. This car represents a solid low maintenance investment that I would drive anywhere without hesitation.
