Description
For sale is my 1949 Type 79 Station Wagon in lovely condition inside and out. Running the smooth 320ci Straight Eight Fireball Dynaflash engine with Dynaflow 2 Speed automatic transmission.
A sought after, rare car with only 653 of these top-of-the-range Buicks made in 1949 which has one year only styling. I’m not aware of any others in the UK and you don’t see many surviving in the US either.
This car is stock throughout aside from an early after-market air-con system (which works), 12V conversion and electric windshield wipers replacing the original vacuum system. Absolutely solid car and with a very clean underside.
Interior has lots of wood and chrome and is fully upholstered in leather adding to the luxurious feel of this car on the road.
Apart from the one with the roof rack, all photos shown here have been taken very recently but I have lots more if you want to see anything specific. I’m happy to take any additional photos or videos as required. The roof rack is included and will be refitted this week.
Bad points - there are a few minor blemishes / chips on the paintwork from the car being driven. There is a transmission leak and most of the gauges don’t work - perhaps due to the 12v conversion but I haven’t tried putting a voltage reducer in so don’t know. The speedo works but is noisy.
