Classic TR6 Desert Sled, excellent condition, re-imported from Colorado in 2008 by previous owner who kept it in his private collection. I acquired it from his son after his death last year, at which point it hadn’t been run for over 20 years. I recommissioned it carefully, rebuilt the carburettor with new jets, slide, float and needle valve, had the speedo fully rebuilt, and had the magneto completely rebuilt with new bearings, rewound rotor with new condenser, new slip ring, new pickups, plug leads and caps. I have also fitted new tyres and tubes. The bike when I acquired it didn’t have a centre stand so I purchased one and re-fitted it. Fitting the stand is easy-however-fitting the spring hanger which the spring hooks onto is another thing which anyone who has done it will agree-it basically needs to be done with the engine and gearbox out of the frame……The bike is running beautifully and has just completed 714 miles around the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain during which the only issue was a broken clutch cable. The only reason for offering it for sale is because I have realised that I need to downsize to a smaller lighter bike to continue to do rides like that-the TR6 is now just a little too big and heavy for me to ride long distances sadly-which is what I bought it for…..
