FORD CORTINA 1980 MK5 2. 0 GL AUTO ESTATE. 52, 000 mls from newTotally original, never been welded or resprayed. It was properly rust proofed from new (receipts to prove) and done again later in life. Excellent condition. One family ownership before me, massive document folder going back to original purchase docs. I have owned it for about four years and selling for the cliché reason of I have too many classics and need to let a couple go. It gets praise and admiration everywhere I take it even at Ford shows, from people who know what they are looking at. It is weather (rain) dry, and has no leaks from the engine, cooling system or gearbox. A proper ‘dry’ car. I have used it sparingly for any sort of journey and it has always driven well and never let me down. In my ownership I have done routine small repairs or detail improvements. Most recent is new front and rear screen chrome trims and wheel refurbishment. Soon after buying it I did the valve stem seals which sorted the minor exhaust smoke issue, now nonexistent. I also changed the timing belt, oil, filters etc. I have replacement light lenses for those that have slight defects, e. g. small cracks or chips. I also have a good rear bumper. I have not fitted these but would consider fitting or passing them on with the sale. I have not fitted them because they are not serious issues and for the fear of them getting damaged again. I have other spares I may consider including for a hassle free sale. I strongly recommend that any serious buyer comes and inspects the car for peace of mind.
