Description

Honda CB100N – Running & Riding Classic – Lots of Recent Maintenance – Spares Included

For sale is my Honda CB100N, a classic lightweight Honda that's becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in good running condition.

I bought the bike a couple of months ago as a running project. When I first got it, the idle was high and a little rough, so I've spent a lot of time going through the bike to make it reliable and enjoyable to ride.

Recent work carried out:

- Carburettor cleaned and fitted with new rubber gaskets.
- New ignition coil.
- New condenser.
- New front fork seals and fresh fork oil.
- New spark plug.
- New spark plug cap.
- New voltage rectifier.
- New gear shifter seal (fixed a small oil leak).
- New exhaust crush gasket.
- Points cleaned and ignition timing correctly set.
- Valve clearances (inlet and exhaust) checked and adjusted.
- Airbox cleaned.
- Fitted a mesh inline fuel filter.
- Compression tested at a healthy and consistent around 140 psi.
- Chain cleaned, adjusted and lubricated.
- Front brake assembly cleaned with new brake pads fitted.
- Stator and charging system checked and confirmed to be working correctly.

- Fuel cap cleaned and the tank filled with fresh Esso Synergy Supreme+ 99 petrol.

The bike previously developed an issue where, after around 20 minutes of riding, it would occasionally stall when returning to idle. After carrying out the work above, this issue now appears to have been resolved and the bike is running nicely.

Known issues

The rear brake light is currently permanently illuminated. Unfortunately, the small front brake lever switch broke. I already have a brand new replacement switch and cable, which will be fitted if I get the chance before the bike sells.

This is an honest classic, not a show bike. It still has the usual cosmetic imperfections you'd expect from a bike of this age, including some rusty fasteners and a few stripped screws on the front brake assembly. It could still benefit from some further fettling, but it starts, runs well, and is a lovely little bike once warmed up. I'm only selling because I simply don't have the time to continue with it.

Included with the bike:

- Brand new front and rear tyres.
- Brand new inner tubes for both wheels.
- New valve stem seals.
- Haynes workshop manual.
- Complete gasket set (only a couple of the smaller gaskets have been used; engine gaskets remain unused).
- All of the original parts I've replaced, in case they're ever needed.

These CB100Ns are becoming increasingly rare, particularly examples that are running and riding. It would make a great classic commuter, weekend ride or an excellent base for someone wanting to finish off a tidy restoration.

Mot and Tax exempt. Have a lot of previous maintenance paperwork too.

Viewings are very welcome. Open to sensible offers.
