It also comes with a matching cover for the roof when folded down. This is also in excellent condition, all press studs present and working, these are rare.
UK car first registered 06. 06. 1986. Now MOT exempt and will qualify for Historic taxation class (Nil rate) from April 2027.
5 speed, electric front windows, original working fitted Phillips radio/ cassette. 1360 cc engine. 6 previous keepers.
I bought this car in May last year directly from a car museum where it had been exhibited, unused since 2018.
It was recommissioned and MOT'd and used lightly over the summer. Stored under cover for the winter and now back on the road as a fun little summer drive.
The car is overall in very good condition as can be seen in the attached photos.
Comes with some history, original handbook, Service book and owner wallet. Sales brochure, press cuttings and a Haynes manual.
New battery fitted last year, jacking kit and full sized spare wheel. The car was originally supplied with a smaller space saver wheel which sat on a cradle under the bonnet. I also have a couple of spare oil filters and an air filter.
The negative bits (It is 40 years old)
Looking at the paperwork it has in the past had an issue with the speedometer. This now works fine but the milage reading is all over the place and varies according to the cars mood. When I bought the car it was displaying 900000 miles which is clearly incorrect when compared to the condition of the car. Having taken the car out of winter storage its now showing 400000 ???This is not an issue for me and has obviously been going on for a while when studying its MOT history where again the milage is up and down.
The car starts well with delicate use of the manual choke and the engine pulls well through all gears . I had the clutch thrust bearing replaced because it was noisy but there is still a slight rattling from the gearbox when the clutch is not engaged which the garage describe as "lash". Again not an issue for me and hasn't affected my use or enjoyment of the car.
Rear nearside window is loose on its mechanism. The widow does wind up and down and when the roof is up it is held firmly in position with no issues. However with the hood down the window needs retracting to its lowest level as it rattles if kept fully up. Again not a big issue, I'm just trying to be transparent.
This is a lovely little car which attracts a lot of attention when out and about. Ideal entry level into classic car ownership.
