Description
1962 Lancia Flaminia GT. I’ve owned this car for 18 years. Bought as a non running barn find and completely rebuilt - it has aged beautifully since. Work done includes:
- Full engine rebuild by Jim Stokes workshop including hardened valve seats.
- Ceramic coated exhaust manifolds. New exhaust.
- Chassis repairs, new inner and outer sills, floor repaired, new door bottoms, new battery tray, inner wings repaired. Full professional respray.
- New clutch, balanced by vibration free.
- Upgraded brake calipers, new brake lines. Reconditioned servo
Over the years of driving it in the UK and France, I’ve added electronic ignition, seat belts, electric fan, a high torque starter and an alternator (That looks like a dyno).
This car is not concours, with a scratch on the door (my cat is to blame - surprisingly it’s still breathing) but still in excellent condition and drives beautifully, with subtle modifications that make it a reliable grand tourer you can use on modern roads and motorways ( it will happily cruise at 70mph).
With its exclusive coach built Superleggerra body, refined V6 engine, all round disc brakes and 50:50 weight balance due to its rear transaxle - this car is surprising modern and rewarding to drive.
Recently featured and reviewed in Classic Cars magazine - it’s one of the best examples in the UK. With around 1000 made and high original price this GT has always been exclusive. Now even rarer, this is a refined GT car that stands out and rewards the driver on long continental tours
