This is the V8-powered BMW 840Ci, combining one of BMW’s most distinctive coupé designs with effortless performance, pillarless windows and genuine long-distance grand-touring ability.
I have owned the car since November 2024. It has covered 99, 500 miles and has recently been serviced by respected BMW specialist RSV in Chester.
The car has a new MOT and presents very well for its age.
It rides on a set of 18-inch 'style 37' alloy wheels, shod in Jinyu Gallopro tyres.
Factory fitted equipment includes electrically adjustable front seats with 3 position drivers memory, electric windows, electric sunroof, electrically adjustable door mirrors, trip computer.
This 840ci has been fitted with a desirable stainless-steel exhaust system.
It will be accompanied by the original owners book pack, the service history booklet, a raft of maintenance invoices and historic MOT certificates, two keys, and the space wheel.

The check control unit reportedly shows a fault for the tail lights and number plate lights, which is pictured, but the lights function as they should. A replacement unit has been ordered and will be fitted prior to sale.
The cars most recent mot was conducted in July 2026, resulted in a first time pass with no advisories.
This 840ci's latest service work comprised of an engine oil and filter change and air filter.
Prior to this the car was serviced during a 15 year family ownership by sandy Point Service Station in Hampshire.
The wheels have been refurbished with new centre caps fitted.
The E31 -generation 840ci is a solid example of BMW's luxurious four-seat pillar less grand tourer. This stylish 8-series has been dry stored for the majority of the last 2 years, having covered less that 3500 miles since I purchased it, and should excel as a long distance modern classic tourer for any enthusiast.

The E31 8 Series remains one of BMW’s most recognisable and distinctive designs. This example benefits from an understated colour combination, sensible mileage, specialist maintenance, a fresh MOT and a strong overall presentation.
It is not being presented as a concours example, but as an honest, well-maintained and highly usable classic BMW that can be enjoyed immediately.
