Description

An extraordinary survivor in exceptional original condition - it must have been stored inside for much of its life. Still with its factory interior with unfaded seat fabric and dashboard in unmarked condition. The plexiglass rear screen is present and in excellent condition, as is the correct unpainted glass fibre roof. It even seems to still have its original factory-fitted exhaust pipe and the original long-stroke engine.
The car is fitted with power steering, which only became an option on IDs within weeks of its manufacture and was a rarely taken up option on French market cars. Most exceptional however is the fact that it has been converted to trouble-free LHM hydraulic fluid. This was a major undertaking which has been done very thoroughly with all the hydraulic components painted black to match their original appearance. The conversion plus the power steering makes it an eminently useable vehicle which is important as these models are very much better for regular use.
The car was bought from a specialist dealer in Berlin in 2017. The following year the gearbox was completely rebuilt to original specification. Since then it has been 100% reliable and is used on a regular basis.
The car has been regularly serviced at the specialist Pallas Auto. It has an MOT that runs until 26th July 2027. There was an advisory for worn front tyres which have been replaced with the correct Michelin X 165 400 tyres.
Serious offers considered.

You simply won't see another one of these. The later nose cars, particularly from the 70's are not that uncommon, but I've never passed another 'frog eye' like this. And it gets used regularly because its so easy to live with its reliability, it's worry-free LHM hydraulic fluid and its easy manoeuvring with power steering. I would have no qualms about driving it to the South of France and back. It will happily cruise all day at 70mph with all the comfort to be expected from one of these classic Citroëns. When you get there, it'll attract lots of warm attention.
