I bought this BMW on 5 August purely for myself, to enjoy at weekends. I had no intention of selling it, but circumstances have changed very quickly as my wife is now pregnant, so unfortunately the car has to go.
The engine is absolutely excellent. It runs beautifully, sounds exactly as it should and pulls smoothly. The automatic gearbox operates properly and the car drives exceptionally well. There are no knocks, bangs, suspicious noises or anything that would concern me while driving.
The interior is also in very good condition for its age and has clearly been looked after. Mechanically, I have had absolutely no problems with the car. It drives straight, smooth and solid and genuinely feels like a properly maintained E39.

The car has covered only around 3, 000 miles since the last engine oil and filter service.

History and condition:
The car has BMW service and maintenance history from earlier in its life. According to the previous owner, during the last two years the servicing was no longer carried out by BMW, so there is no BMW service history covering that period.
The V5C is in my name.
MOT valid until 5 July 2027.
Mechanically, the car is completely original and has never been modified. The only non-original changes are the front headlights and rear lights, which have been replaced with genuine-style units from a facelift BMW E39.
Everything inside the car works as it should. All buttons, switches, electrical controls and interior functions are fully operational.
The car remains mechanically standard and retains the original character of the E39 528i SE.
I am not going to fill the advert with exaggerated descriptions. Anyone seriously interested in a BMW E39 already knows what these cars are, why the straight-six 528i is special and what to look for. This was bought as a car for the heart rather than simply transport, and I would much rather see it go to somebody who knows and appreciates these BMWs.
