It is with a very heavy heart that I have decided to put my LandRover series 1 up for sale. Which I have owned since 2018
This LandRover was originally dispatched to Australia back in February 1956. Which took until October in that year to be registered. I still have the original despatch papers with it!
So in 2018 I purchased it with intention to restore it to its former glory-this is exactly what I did! When I say restore-I used all original parts with “new old stock”!
Firstly I stripped it right back to the chassis and I replaced every component that needed it.
The engine and the gearbox have been rebuilt. I did use an engine that had been restored but the original engine is still here which will stay with the Landy.
The gears select as they should in-fact one of the best that I have driven as the engine. It drives with no “wandering” and is a real pleasure if you can say a LandRover is a pleasure! If you know you know!
The bulkhead, chassis, and body are all in good sound and solid condition.
I lovingly restored it keeping it as original as possible. I chose not to paint it but preserve its originality.
I also added a canvas back which in my opinion adds to the look of its original state!
It’s been a real pleasure using this vehicle which I do use on a regular basis.
If I may say so my self I personally think it is once of the nicest and most original Series 1’s around..
It also still has its working PTO on the rear.
All tyres are fine!
You could just literally get in and start your adventure!
The list of things that I have done is endless and done to a high standard. It would be easier to talk through the restoration than try to list..
I have took advice from fellow enthusiasts as to how to put a price on it?
My price is a starting point which is negotiable to a genuine interested purchaser.
These historic agricultural vehicles need to be looked after and preserved. It’s ready for its new custodian.
I would seriously consider a PX for a vintage, veteran or classic motorcycle.
