This 1950 Land Rover 80” is a unique example, having never been restored and having a very interesting history file.
The car was purchased new by a Lieutenant Colonel in Devon in 1950. This gentlemen kept the car for 55 years, after which he sold the vehicle to his son-in-law. It stayed in the family for a further nine years before it found a new custodian, and went to an owner outside of the family for the first time in 64 years!
The history file includes correspondence between the Rover Company and the first owner discussing the purchase of the vehicle, as well as the original purchase invoice for the car and handwritten journals documenting the mileage covered.
The vehicle has been checked over in our own workshops here at Land Rover Classic, and will be supplied with 12 months warranty and 12 months breakdown cover to its next custodian.
