Description
Here we have a pre 1500 1948 very desirable to collects and enthusiasts being the first months/ year of production rare vehicle.
Built on the 17th December 1948 with the original registration still present and original buff log book.
This was restored originally in early 2000 and not used much and left in the garage. The paint work is nice very presentable, does have odd few marks as you would expect for a vehicle that was painted 23 years ago. I did not need to touch chassis and bulkhead solid condition, it had a new autosparks wiring loom as well.
It had a lot of new panels from top panel producer (Keith Wadsworth) when it was restored all those years ago.
Which includes new door bottoms/ Tailgate/ Wings inner and outers and refurbished rear tub so everything is straight and lines up well.
Since purchasing it start of 2025 I have done/ had the following;
•Rebuilt axles front and back new seals/ bearings/ track rod ends/ swivels/ cast steering box etc
•Full engine rebuild square sump core plug type engine 1950 year. This included new pistons/ bearings small/ big/ centre/ crank machined/ head, block machined/ new exhaust, inlet valves/ guides/ chemical dipped list goes on.

•Gearbox rebuild anything that needed replacing was
•New braking system included wheel cylinders/ master cylinder/ shoes/ pipe work
•New Sheradized nuts and bolts as per original
•New exhaust front/ back
•New tyres x4 correct Dunlop T28 as it would of left factory with
•New su electronic fuel pump
•Prop shafts refurbished with new UJs

It has a lot of nice early original features,
•2 spoke steering wheel
•Original gauges with correct early 1575 Speedo
•Original 4. 5 width rims with correct tyres
•Original buff log book. Chassis number clear on engine mount not corroded
•Running gear- Original gearbox/ axles. All numbers clear still not all corroded
•Original brass lubrication plate and chassis badge on bulkhead

•11/ 48 distributor

Covered just over 1000miles since engine rebuild
Has new type v5 in my name and Land Rover heritage certificate and receipts.
Overall it is a very nice pre 1500 48 that can be enjoyed and used at a sensible price point.
I am only selling as I have another project I want to do.
I believe you will struggle to find one in this condition within this price range else where, they only very occasionally come up for sale!
