Description

Good afternoon.
I'm the third owner of this lovely Fastback in the UK.( having bought it two years ago north west of Birmingham). The car decodes as built on :-

November . 06. 1964. Registered for the road January 1st 1965.
It was restored in the USA approx 10 years ago .
Rack and pinion power steering was fitted.
Disc brake conversion.
4 new wings . Part floor replacement .
The bumpers being replaced at the same time.

Resprayed the original Rangoon Red (there is some blistering to rear three quarter wing RHS , approx 4 square inches I have been assured by a professional painter that the steel is good, you can see no holes inside ! but probably they didn't wait long enough for the very small amount of filler to cure before painting.

The lovely matching interior was fitted at the same time and remains in good order.
Last June/ July I sourced a newly built 302 Ford engine. Having checked the original 289 and considered old and a bit smokey.

This was professionally fitted by Rei-store Ltd. there are some on line reciepts . I have spent approximately £8, 000 on the car.
there are approx 65 pictures and a few videos of the engine being built and running in a test stand. There are approximately 100 pictures of the car in and out.

I have also done a lot of undersealing . We have also fitted a new heater and neccesery plumbing.
I have now driven the car approximately 3, 000miles the last 2, 000 on the new engine breaking it in very carefully.
The car is a great cruiser and gets a lot of attention.
I'm only selling because lack of space and I have a new project.
Open to a sensible offer. No more time waisters please.
Thanks for taking the time to read the advert.

I was fortunate enough to go in a new 1966 Mustang in 1966!
And have hankered after one for years. It gets load of attention wherever we go. I love the pure Americana of it all, its an occasion when ever we go out. The dash board is a favourite part , reminding me of Thunderbirds !
Just sitting in it with my Grandson having a chat is special , he loves it.
The rear sloping body design is very cool.
This was built on November 06 1964 ! That's only three months in from them ever exiting !!! That's history.

People wave , call out and comment regularly that it's a beautiful car. My daughter never usually comments on a new car but was quite animated with the Fastback !!!

With the new engine now run in , with the windows down , its an effortless cruiser.
It's pretty relaxing to drive. I usually sit at 60mph, when the road allows. So keeps up with modern traffic fine.
The engine has a mild cam and so it rumbles quite happily on idle.
I'm sure the new owner will thoroughly enjoy their new car.
