Description
Owned since June 2022, this 1987 Range Rover Classic 3. 5 EFI V8 Automatic has had a lot of work carried out to make it a solid, usable classic.
The body has been fully resprayed in Bentley Alpine Green.
Welding has been completed to the known Range Rover trouble areas, including the front and rear wheel arches/ footwells, front sills, A and B post lower sections, plus a repair to the rear crossmember. The chassis is largely original, solid and Waxoyl treated. Welding invoices are available.
Mechanical work includes new suspension springs and shocks, brake discs/ pads/ calipers, radiator and thermostat, fuel tank and pump, power steering pump and hose, steering damper, belts, gearbox service with fresh ATF and filter, and new 235/ 70 R16 tyres.
The 3. 5 EFI V8 starts hot or cold, runs well and holds temperature. The ZF automatic changes smoothly, with high/ low range working.
The original grey cloth interior remains, with a new headlining. Electric windows, central locking, heater/ blower, gauges, lights and A/ C all work, although the A/ C is not especially cold.
Bluetooth stereo fitted.
It is not concours and has some cosmetic imperfections, including paint chips, a crack to the scuttle panel, age-related interior wear and a dashboard that would benefit from refinishing. The exhaust is older and will need replacing.
MOT valid until 29 July 2027, with only two advisories for minor exhaust leaks.
Showing approximately 88, 500 miles, not warranted. Previous MOT history shows around 86, 000 miles in 2005 and 88, 358 in 2012.
Welding invoices, parts invoices, MOT history, V5 are present.
This is a Range Rover Classic you can actually use and enjoy rather than be afraid to drive.
The Bentley Alpine Green really suits it, while the original grey interior and 3. 5 V8 keep the character of the car intact.
A lot of the usual Range Rover jobs have already been dealt with, but it still has room for someone to improve the smaller cosmetic details over time.
I’m only selling because I also have a 1972 Range Rover Classic restoration underway and want to focus my time and money on that.
It’s an honest, usable Classic with plenty of character and a lot of the important work already done.
