It's called Bart and I bought him as a standard R1100GS in 1998 purely to keep my over pampered bought from new R1100GS clean and avoid wet or winter roads.... I know, conspicuous consumption, or 1st world problem!
Over the years Bart took me and my girlfriend on many European trips, and UK based travels.
I had an own fault "off" at one point which due to cosmetic and front wheel damage led to him being classed as a Cat D but I retained him and replaced all required, and I obtained an R1150 set of forks in a job lot of parts, which gave a better front end.
There followed another couple of Euro trips, but eventually I moved away from my two GSs and a young friend Steve bought Bart off me, because he'd wanted him for years.
Steve got killed in Afghanistan so his Dad Tony inherited Bart.
He commissioned Trike Design in Wales to convert Bart at great cost into this trike.
I didn't see Bart for many years until last summer when I saw him for sale with a broken differential.
I bought him, spent a lot of money fixing him and my girlfriend and I were ecstatic at Bart coming full circle back to us.
Unfortunately our combined arthritic joints and bad backs mean that clambering on or off Bart, or even just riding for over an hour, is very debilitating, and I've made the sad decision to sell him.
Buyer must collect, or arrange a courier.
