A genuine and increasingly rare 1972 Volkswagen Beetle Marathon Edition, offered with just 39, 000 miles and an impressive history file.
We have owned this Beetle for the past six years and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of ownership. It is a lovely-looking car that has always attracted attention and, although it has been off the road for the last few years, it starts and drives.
The Beetle has been kept in dry storage for the last 18 months. It remains largely factory standard, with the only notable change being the driver’s seat.
One of the car’s biggest attractions is its history and documentation. It comes with the genuine original handbook and manuals, along with folders of paperwork collected over the years. These include previous invoices, maintenance records and, importantly, the original sales invoice.
The car has recently been serviced. As part of this, we were advised that some welding is required to sections of the sills. The car would also benefit from some paintwork, mainly to the roof. We have tried to describe the car honestly and accurately so that the new owner is fully aware of its current condition.
