Description

A highly individual 1934 Austin Seven Special with distinctive bespoke coachwork and VSCC Eligibility (certificate dated 2010).

Offered for sale is this very attractive Austin Seven Special, registration VY 5950, fitted with the correct 747cc Austin Seven engine. Finished in British Racing Green with a contrasting red interior, it has tremendous period charm and stands out from the many more conventional Austin Sevens.

What makes this particular Seven especially interesting is its unusual bespoke bodywork and distinctive rear-end design. Despite comparing it with numerous other Specials, we have yet to find another with the same configuration. It gives the car a genuinely individual appearance while retaining the unmistakable character of an Austin Seven.

The car comes with multiple boxes of spares, far too numerous to list individually, offering excellent value and practicality for the next owner.

I inherited the car from my father‑in‑law’s estate, so no further historical details or competition background are known. Everything I do know is included in this listing. But there may be further details in the numerous boxes that come with it.

Car has been recommissioned and is in running condition, with work carried out on the brakes, radiator etc etc.
It is currently located at the Garage that carried out the work.

Priced to reflect its individuality, VSCC eligibility and the extras included

This Austin Seven Special is one of those cars that immediately makes people smile. Its bespoke coachwork gives it a wonderfully individual character, and the British Racing Green with red interior creates a classic, eye‑catching combination. It’s light, lively and full of charm — exactly what an Austin Seven should be.

What really sets it apart is the unique rear‑end design and the overall proportions, which make it stand out from the many more conventional Specials. It feels genuinely different without losing the simplicity and mechanical honesty that make these cars so enjoyable to own.

It’s supplied with multiple boxes of spares, making it an ideal choice for someone who wants a usable, characterful classic with plenty of support for ongoing maintenance. Whether you’re looking for a fun weekend car, a starter VSCC‑eligible machine, or simply something with real personality, this Seven delivers.
