Rover Mini Cooper Sport – Rare Volcano Orange – “Donald”
Reluctantly up for sale is my Rover Mini Cooper Sport in rare Volcano Orange, affectionately known as Donald.
A great-looking and increasingly desirable classic Mini with excellent history, limited previous owners and around 73, 000 miles. My intention was very much to keep and continue improving the car, but a change in circumstances and a new hobby mean it’s time for someone else to enjoy it.
Since owning Donald, I’ve invested significantly in getting the mechanical and structural side of the car right, including:
* Front brakes rebuilt including rebuilt calipers and new discs
* Rear drum brakes rebuilt
* New brake hoses
* Complete replacement exhaust system
* New fuel filter, oil filter and air filter
* New rocker cover gasket/ seal
* New HT leads
* New spark plugs
* Electronic distributor
* Four new tyres
* Speakers replaced throughout
* Structural work completed, resulting in the car passing its most recent MOT with zero advisories
Interior is genuine and original with the exception of the dashboard that has been painted to mate the iconic volcano colour. Slightly tear in drivers bolster seat.
It’s important to be transparent that Donald isn’t a concours car and there is still some TLC required to the front end cosmetically/ bodywork-wise. I had intended to complete this myself and, for the right price, the car will come with the Heritage panels I’ve already sourced to replace the front end.
The combination of Volcano Orange, Cooper Sport specification, good history and limited ownership makes it a Mini that really stands out. A lot of the important mechanical work has already been taken care of, while there’s still the opportunity for the next owner to finish the bodywork and make it a really special example.
