Description
A much-loved and cherished 1999 Lotus Elise 111S with just 36, 869 miles and a well-documented history.
The car's history is known from new:
1st owner: Purchased the car in 1999 and covered approximately 17, 000 miles between 1999 and 2003.
2nd owner: Dry-stored the car for 18 years after moving to America on a temporary work contract. The contract ultimately became a much longer stay, resulting in the Elise remaining in storage throughout this period.
3rd owner: Fully reconditioned the car to make it road-ready. He subsequently owned the Elise for approximately three years and covered around 6, 000 miles. The car was upgraded with Bilstein suspension in May 2020.
Current owner: I purchased the car in August 2022 with 23, 500 miles and have cherished it ever since. During my ownership, I have driven the Elise extensively throughout Europe and used the car as a show car.
Recent work
October 2025: New coil pack
March 2026: E-service
August 2026: New clutch slave cylinder, new coolant temperature sensor and replacement gear cable retaining clip
Overall, this is a much-loved, low-mileage Elise with a fascinating ownership history. It has been enjoyed extensively as a show car, winning Best Classic Sports Car at the Chatsworth Classic Car show in 2024, and has also been displayed at the NEC Classic Car Show. I have also toured Europe multiple times in the car, including a trip to Switzerland, without any issues or breakdowns. The car remains completely stock (with the original gear knob included in the sale) and has been maintained regardless of cost.
I also have some Lotus Elise memorabilia that I've collected over the years that I'd be willing to include in the sale (sale brochure, book about the history of the Elise, etc.)
