An immaculate example of AMG's mini muscle car, finished in rare Alexandrite Green and with a high specification.
The C43 was the first AMG car to be assembled entirely at the Mercedes factory after MB's total acquisition of AMG in 1998.
Replacing the C36, it used the 4. 3-litre V8 normally found in E and S-Classes, uprated it to 302BHP and squeezed in the C-Class's engine bay. The result was a small saloon with tremendous performance. The eight-cylinder urge was allied with excellent handling and a good ride. Here was a car that could cover ground fast in the real world.
The C43 was only made for about two years with only 4200 produced worldwide, making it something of a rarity.
Not just as a result of their low production but also because finding one that has not suffered extensive underbody corrosion is not easy. Fortunately, this example is exactly what we hope to find, an original, unwelded, rust-free car.
First registered in the summer of 1998 by Lancaster Hertford, it was specified with Alexandrite Green paintwork, full black (not the usual duotone) leather, xenon headlights, electric/ orthopaedic/ heated seats along with the expected climate control, electric windows and so on. The full spec is listed below. An upgraded stereo system was fitted with an additional amplifier earlier in the car's life.
The majority of the 109k miles the car has were covered within the first 7 years of the car's life. In more recent years the car has been in storage and covered very few miles.
Due to this period in storage Edward Hall Mercedes Specialist have carried out a major all fluid/ filters service including the transmission and differential. Edward Hall have also replaced the air conditioning compressor and condenser, plus the oil cooler along with its lines.
As a result this is a very well sorted car that drives beautifully.
All original books and manuals come with the car, a good service history (MB & MB Specialist) and all keys - 2x remote and 1x wallet.
Exterior, interior and the underside are in excellent condition, as the photos show, and the car is an absolute delight to both look at and drive.
I purchased the car from Edward Hall Mercedes Specialist in June 2021 and Whilst in my possession has been dry stored with the rest of my collection of Mercedes cars and only used on rare and special occasions,
Inspected annually for MOT with 2 x engine oil service using Mercedes Benz Parts and AMG Oil 4 new tyres recently fitted for MOT purposes.

I was at Edward Hall Mercedes Specialist purchasing 190E they had for sale and this metallic green paintwork caught my after closer investigation and walking around this gleaming Alexandrite Green C43 several times my concentration shifted to the stance of this Auto Bahn eater and then serious test drive with Edward Hall himself driving the deal was done.
We are moving abroad in the next 12 months and looking for a good home for this excellent sought after Mercedes.
