There are loads of MG’s for sale, some at silly money, some needing hours of work and occasionally a sensibly priced, usable, smart looking one like this pops up, it’s from the 60’s with chrome bumpers and wire wheels, its in the best colour and its affordable, ticks all the boxes.

1966 MG Midget 1056cc straight and presentable bodywork, it’s running and driving absolutely spot on, little used by the previous owner its just had some recommissioning works completed including new exhaust mountings, 4 brand new tyres, new front brake pads, new Castrol classic oil, oil filter, air filters, points, condenser, sump plug washer, new rocker cover gasket, new oil cap and everything checked and lubricated to get it ready to enjoy, it benefits from free road tax, cheap classic car insurance and is exempt from needing an MOT.
It comes with very recent soft top, that’s shows no signs of wear, cracks or splits, the corner push buttons don’t clip but it does the job of keeping the rain off, these early models benefit from a fully removable hood leaving a far better hood down look without the pram effect behind the seats, takes 2 mins to pit back on.
It starts very easily and runs very well, pulling strongly through all the gears, it stops well and is steady at speed with no wandering and if you press the “go” pedal hard it’s quick at getting up to the speed limit (see video).
The interior has undamaged seats, good carpet set and clean door cards, it’s a sung place to get comfy for some motoring adventures. Both doors shut, no lifting or pushing required, they sit sung into the opening and line up with the panels, the boot and bonnet open, click shut and lock, the windows wind down, the quarter light vents twist, the side lights, side lights, wiper, washers, horn, dash gauges, rev counter, mileometer all work correctly, it shows just over 65k miles recorded.
The paintwork is presentable, there are imperfections that will be found on close inspection on just about ever panel, it’s not immaculate, but it needs no work to enjoy and will be well received wherever you pull up, it’s got the great aged and used look. Its HPI clear with a printout, sadly the service folder has been lost so no history available.

There are loads of Midgets to pick from, you simply will not find another in this well demonstrated, with everything shown to you before you leave the house, nothing hidden and nothing to hide, no one shows you more.
A usable Midget that you will enjoy from the outset, freshly recommissioned could be further improved if you choose but will be admired wherever you take it.

Local delivery within 20 miles of Carlisle is normally for free, further afield we can deliver to most of the UK, direct on our own transport, for roughly £1 per mile one way, please ask for a price.
