I'm resigning myself to selling the family airloon that is the families old race car, you are looking at a 1973 Porsche 911E 2. 4 that was converted to RS spec back in 1991 using a genuine mag engine and gearbox casing 2. 7. The car has been in the family since 1986 where it came home freshly painted and restored by what was Barford Garage in Leamington Spa, and was campaigned by Peter Tyson in the Pirelli Porsche Cup Championship from 1987.
In 1990 the championship became sponsored by Bf Goodrich and so the car was temporarily taken out of action to be converted to RS spec using a genuine 2. 7 engine and box, and the body updated to the wider flares. The car continued to be a mix of road and race car right through to 2014 at which point it was given a full engine rebuild by Ninemeister, fitted with new crank, liners, pistons, full overhaul. The plan was to go back racing, but it went back to my late father's garage in Italy where it remained unused until 2018. Upon my dad passing I decided to fully restored the body and undertake a full back to metal rebuild leaving no stone unturned. The car was delivered to WASS near Manchester in 2019 to have the work completed, but then Covid hit, and then further delays, some work was done, the car was stripped, and the body shell has been dipped to begin any rectification work, which has since halted. I have now other pressing projects back in Australia, and I'm looking to reluctantly move the car on to a passionate owner to complete the project and bring this historical car back to like new.
The engine is pretty much brand new, the body has been stripped and ready for the work, it does need a few panels which also come with the car, there are some very rare OE panels that come with the project to complete, it will need a new interior, as it was a race car, there isn't anything other than the dash left. I have added some pics as it was in 2019 just prior to being stripped and also some of the dipped shell. There are multiple sets of wheels or original Fuch design that also come with the car.
