Around £10, 000 has been spent on the car over the last 2 years. Recent work includes new front and rear shocks, leaf springs and related suspension components; rear brake drums, shoes and wheel cylinders; front brakes stripped and serviced; and a new power-steering ram and lines. The cooling system has also had attention, including a replacement water pump and thermostat, new coolant hoses and a coolant flush. Other work includes electronic ignition, a coil, leads and spark plugs, an upgraded Edelbrock four-barrel carburettor and inlet manifold, and various steering and suspension components. Paperwork for the work is available.
Inside, the headlining is perfect and the seats look new. All gauges are working, although the radio is not. The underneath is in good condition. The paintwork is also in great condition apart from some bubbling on the passenger-side door and a very small amount on the driver’s door; this is shown in the photographs.
The engine runs, but it uses a lot of water and oil is mixing with the coolant. The head gaskets have been replaced, but the problem remains. Skimming the cylinder heads has been suggested as a possible next step, although this has not been confirmed as the cause. Please take this fault into account when considering the car.
The Mustang is a real head-turner and gets attention wherever it goes. I want to give an honest description of the car and its condition, so please get in touch if you have any questions.
