Description
For sale is my 1971 MGB GT finished in red. It's a genuine chrome bumper car that has been well cared for throughout its life and is only being sold because I simply no longer have the time it deserves. With working full-time and travelling regularly, I can't give it the attention needed to finish the restoration, so I'd much rather it went to an enthusiast who can enjoy and improve it.
The car starts and runs and has been serviced regularly. It is MOT exempt and comes with an extensive history file, including almost every receipt and invoice for work carried out over the years, with complete documented history covering the last 20 years. It has had just three owners from new.

Description
This is a usable classic but there are a number of jobs that I'd planned to complete.
* Brakes work but would benefit from replacement calipers and a new brake servo.
* Carburettors would benefit from inspection and tuning.
* Paintwork is presentable but would benefit from cosmetic improvement or a respray if you're aiming for show condition.
* Wheel nuts on three wheels have seized and will require attention.
* Interior would benefit from refurbishment.
* Passenger door currently only locks from the inside and the locking mechanism will need attention.
None of these jobs have stopped me enjoying the car, but I'd rather be completely honest so the next owner knows exactly what they're buying.
Overall, this is a very solid and attractive chrome bumper MGB GT with excellent provenance, an extensive history file and enormous potential. It would make a fantastic project for someone wanting a classic British sports car they can improve while enjoying along the way.
