Description
The only 12 seater Austin K8 that Tiverton Coachworks ever bodied.
Reg.,- MRL 765
********************
The Austin chassis cab left Longbridge in May 1950 (when 1st registered) and was taken to the Tiverton Coachworks to be bodied as a 12 seater coach the only 12 seater they ever did.
It was then bought by Hawkeys in Cornwall but after just 1 year they sold it to the Chapman Brothers who were the wrestling champions of Cornwall.
They used it for transporting the children from Rosenanon along narrow winding roads to school at St Wenn. This continued for the next 36 years until the brothers called it a day and retired.
I bought the coach in 1999 and have had a lot of enjoyment both driving it and meeting people.
