Description
This Porsche 912 is a thoroughly re-engineered and extensively customised example of the charming classic sports car.
It is now powered by a naturally aspirated custom built 2. 3-litre air-cooled flat-four, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
This left-hand drive example was previously registered abroad, then imported from California and registered in the UK in January 1980 as a restoration project.
I brought the car as a restoration project in 2014 from the Porsche specialist R-To-RSR Ltd but didn’t start the rebuild until 2020. I had the shell acid dipped to make sure it was solid and also took it to EB Motorsports who have a SWB Porsche chassis jig table to make sure it was 100% straight before starting the rebuild. The build was finished and registered in June 2023. Every single part of the car was either new, reconditioned or upgraded in most cases.
Since the full rebuild the car has only done 605 miles and had 1 recent service.
This is a bespoke 'outlaw' style build, featuring a blueprinted 210bhp engine by Stefan Rossi at Ace Engines, Tuthill components, custom 911R-inspired body panels from EB Motorsports and custom interior. This is a quick very lightweight car that has a luxury interior giving the driver a true visceral driving experience.
Finished in Sand Beige with a custom black woven leather-trimmed interior, it features a decluttered dashboard with the same woven leather, Alcantara and leather headlining, and a custom-made luggage shelf.
It rides on a set of 15-inch 7R light weight Fuchs-style 911R alloy wheels finished in satin-black with grey ‘petal’ spokes and polished lips, fitted with Avon Radial tyres.
Equipment now includes a reconditioned and serviced five-gauge green VDO instrument, 911S brakes, sports suspension, a front strut brace, drilled door handles, lightweight rear and side windows, a heated windscreen, a 110-litre safari fuel tank, a Talbot pre-green logo Berlin 300 junior side mirror, a limited-edition Momo black Magnus Walker steering wheel, a custom bog oak gear knob, Willans road harnesses, push-button start, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio by Chrome London.
Externally, this 912 now features EB Motorsports 911R front wings, doors, and rear bumper, a custom louvred rear deck lid, a custom rear grille, and custom body integrating 911R taillights.

This is a 1966 Porsche 912 imported from California in January 1980 as a restoration project.
