Description
For sale 1986 Mini MK2 styled as a Cooper 1300S GT documented history of only 2 owners (the 1st owner was born in 1930, and the 2nd owner is his grandson). A few years ago, a highly detailed restoration was caried out. There is practically no trace of rust, powerful engine and the Cooper S 1300GT styling in mind. Factory "Gold Seal" engine was fitted to the Mini. In British Leyland / BMC nomenclature, the 38G designation signifies an official, complete replacement engine (a so-called crate engine) supplied directly by the manufacturer as a factory-reconditioned service unit. Engine specifications: 1275 cc displacement with an 11-stud cylinder head and a single-row (Simplex) timing chain. The Gold Seal (38G559) structurally matches the Cooper S / 1300GT specification. It has been equipped with a perfectly matched and highly classic set of twin SU (Skinner's Union) HS2 carburettors—the best setup for daily driving. Paired two sporty open-element air filters, it achieves a factory-rated output of approximately 70–75 hp and around 100 Nm of torque. This power is completely unrestrictive thanks to the installation of a dedicated RC40 exhaust system. The car's sporty character is further enhanced by alloy wheels wrapped in 175/ 50 R13 tyres. The white roof featuring a factory folding sunroof (faltdach) offers a convertible-like experience during the summer. The half-leather upholstery completes the classic atmosphere of this iconic car, which has been part of a private collection for over a decade—regularly started and occasionally driven to car meets and events. I also possess a large number of spare parts.
