Mini BrooksPack Roma 1999, green (British Racing Green)
Delivered in Rome. Found in Rome. Inspired by Rome. She is a Mini MPi, delivered new by Collina Concessionaria, the official Rover dealer in the heart of the city, and today she wears British Racing Green with bold Giallo striping and Agate Grey 13" rims. Step inside and the Roman story continues: Balmoral Stone Beige seats with Porsche Pepita inserts, deep green carpet with BMC rubber floor mats, cream leather door panels and a dashboard painted in the same Agate Grey as her wheels. A black MOMO leather steering wheel and a wooden gear knob sit under your hands. Above you, an electric Webasto roof. She shows 82. 148 km.
• One owner from new, Manuela, for over 27 years
• Delivered in Rome on 20 April 1999
• Modified 1275cc MPi engine
• Entire suspension renewed, fully adjustable
• Electric Webasto roof and integrated CarPlay
• Italian export title from her very first owner
She never left the Eternal City and its surrounding hills until we were lucky enough to find her. We bought her from Manuela, her FIRST owner, who cared for this Mini for over 27 years; her husband made sure she stayed in lovely condition. That kind of care made her the perfect base for a proper BrooksPack, one loaded with subtle details that honour her Roman roots.
She was built as one of a matching pair. Look closely at the Roma logo and you'll find Romulus and Remus, the twin founders of Rome. History repeating itself, in a way: this time the twin brothers Tom and Renk built two matching icons found in Rome, each rebuilt with a story of her own. Designed as a set, both feature wide wheel arches and a tuned ride height that sits the 13" aluminium rims just right. The Giallo striping? Also found in the Roma football club logo.
At the front, an early-style 'moustache' grille meets our custom front lip, a slight nod to the very first Minis, which had no cutout for brake cooling. The rear follows the same classic thinking. We fitted an early boot layout with the licence plate light shining from underneath, just like the MK1. Stainless bumpers, a stainless exhaust tip, fresh chrome brightwork all around and an Aston fuel cap finish the outside. For the days the sun unveils itself, there is the electric Webasto roof. For every other day, integrated CarPlay is ready to guide you back to Rome.
Technical: her owners took meticulous care of her; we tuned her into a proper BrooksPack. Beneath the skin, the entire suspension has been renewed. She now sits on adjustable shock absorbers on all four corners, with an adjustable ride height kit and fresh rubber cones. A brand-new steering rack, new rims and fresh tyres give crisp, precise handling; she goes exactly where you point her. Mechanically, we fitted an upgraded clutch and custom ported the intake manifold and cylinder head, replacing all the gaskets along the way. All-new ignition components and a high-flow K&N air filter let her breathe freely. The result is a Mini that feels eager, light and properly sharp.
Details: inside, the Balmoral Stone Beige seats carry the classic Pepita pattern famously used in 1960s and 70s Porsche interiors. The BMC rubber floor mats are recreated after the original mats available in the earliest days of the Mini, laid over deep green carpet. The Agate Grey of the dashboard connects the cabin seamlessly to the wheels outside. She comes with an Italian export title directly from her very first owner. Chassis number SAXXNWAZRWD160157, engine number 12A2LK70 369364.
