Today, the Imperial is a rare car with around 4, 000 built and only 70 still on the road. Hugely expensive to restore properly there are very few good ones left. Vinyl roof, fully reclining front seats, automatic transmission and hydrosteer power steering as standard. The car also featured electrically adjustable rear shock absorber settings, a separately controlled rear passenger heater as well as many smaller amenities such as individual reading lamps and walnut finished fold-out tables for the rear seats. It also has walnut dash and door cappings. It has straight six, 3 litre OHV engine with twin Zenith Stromberg carburettors with reputedly a Harry Weslake tuned cylinder head. It is an easy and relaxing car to drive.
