The TVR Grantura MkIV we are offering for sale was converted into a racing car to take part in historic competitions. After racing in the United States, it was purchased in the 2010s by a German enthusiast near Bremen, and then by the current owner just over two years ago, a collector from south-west France, who has carried out extensive work to turn it into a high-performance competition machine. The engine was completely rebuilt in November 2017 by WG British Racing, at a cost of more than €15, 000, including a complete overhaul of the block, a surfaced cylinder head, forged pistons and connecting rods, a competition crankshaft, a Helix Motorsport clutch kit, and many other technical improvements.
The car is fitted with a 4-speed dog gearbox, Weber 45 carburettors, an aluminium radiator, an electric fuel pump, front brake discs and rear drums, Panasport rims and a bespoke exhaust system. A full file accompanies the car, including recent invoices, the dyno report after the engine rebuild, US import documents, US logbooks, vintage press articles and many elements of its history on the other side of the Atlantic.
This TVR is eligible for many European historic competitions, such as the Tour de Corse Historique, the Challenge Asavé 75, and the HSCC Historic Road Sports, making it a formidable competitor in these events. It is registered in France.
