The story behind no. 4729: The Pantera GR3 1972 Chassis no. 4729, a very rare model, a genuine historic racing car with outstanding performance. Jean Deroudille entered it in a number of races with great talent. Eligible for the Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic and other official races and rallies, the DeTomaso Pantera GR3 is a vehicle emblematic of automotive history, symbolising the meeting of competition and passion. This exceptionally rare competition model was produced in just twenty examples in the 1970s to meet the demands of Grand Touring (GT) races and competitions such as the World Sports Car Championship. It is distinguished by its highly studied design, lightened and modified for racing compared to the production version of the Pantera. A promising start in 1972: The story of this De Tomaso Pantera GR3 Number: 4729 began at the end of 1972, when the vehicle was delivered to Mr Jean Deroudille, architect and amateur racer. Ordered from Franco Britannique, the official importer in France, this Pantera was distinguished by its two-tone Grigio/ Black colour scheme and black interior. Thanks to the friendship of driver Jean-Claude Andruet, they were directly invited by the Italian factory to participate in the configuration of its future car. The car soon made a name for itself on the racetrack, taking part in legendary events such as Mont Ventoux, Chamrousse and the Côte d'Ampus, where it put in a string of exceptional performances. This first chapter in its history marked the start of a glorious career in competition.
