Description

L’Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale a genuine monument of British motoring: a Range Rover Classic V8 3. 9L auto Vogue SE, presented in a very elegant configuration, pairing a striking Jet Black repaint with a Winchester Grey leather interior. A true pioneer of the luxury SUV, the Range Rover Classic left its mark on the scene when it launched in 1970. At the crossroads of off-road capability and high-end refinement, it appealed to both escape enthusiasts and demanding city dwellers. Today it remains an absolute icon, collected for its timeless design, versatility and unparalleled comfort. Introduced in 1990 to replace the 3. 5L, the 3. 9L V8 offers a notable boost in power and torque. With 180 hp, paired with permanent four‑wheel drive and a four‑speed ZF automatic gearbox, it delivers smooth, potent, reassuring performance on both road and off‑road. This Range Rover stands out for its elegant configuration and excellent overall condition. Its maintenance history is documented, as evidenced by a stamped book up to 120, 000 km, later supplemented by an invoice dossier detailing nearly €15, 000 of work in recent years, not counting the €8, 000 spent preparing the car for sale, to present this Range Classic in excellent condition. This Range Rover also features a notably comprehensive equipment level for its era’s high‑end variants, including: - Automatic transmission - Cruise control - Electric mirrors - Sunroof - Headlight wash - Leather upholstery - Electric front seats - Front/ rear electric windows - Front/ rear armrests - Air conditioning - Radio - Central locking - Thick carpeting and matching mats - Dog Guard - Bumper guard Mechanically the vehicle behaves very well. The 3. 9L V8 fires up instantly, runs smoothly and is particularly torquey. The engine benefited a few years ago from cylinder head sealing and ignition rebuild. An service has been carried out for the sale, including an oil change with filter replacement, and the replacement of the eight spark plugs. The automatic gearbox operates superbly, with smooth gear changes and a very pleasant drive. The gearbox seal was renewed, along with replacement of the oil strainer. An oil change was performed for the sale. The handling, typical of Range Classics, is comfortable and reassuring, thanks to supple suspension and a well-balanced chassis. In addition to the recently fitted suspension, the wheel bearing seals and various silent blocks and ball joints have been renewed, ensuring sound handling overall. Permanent four‑wheel drive, combined with a centre differential lock, allows confident ventures off the beaten track. The transfer box and axles have also benefitted from sealing a few years ago and have been serviced for the sale. The original wheels present well and are shod with Michelin tyres in good condition. Braking is particularly strong and balanced, reinforced by the recent replacement of front and rear discs and pads, as well as rear calipers. Aesthetically, the bodywork is in remarkable condition. After over 60 hours in the bodyshop, some body panels were repainted and the whole car was polished to a very high standard while retaining its original colour. The underbody is solid, with no signs of deformation or structural corrosion. The grey leather interior is in remarkable condition for the vehicle’s age, mirroring the overall cabin condition, typical of Range Rovers from the 1980s–1990s. The original materials are well preserved, controls are functional, and the overall cabin atmosphere retains the period charm. The car also comes with a bull bar and currently non‑fitted long‑range lamps, as well as a Dog Guard grille that sits between the boot and cabin, enabling safe journeys with your four‑paw companions. Given its configuration, overall condition and the quality of the work carried out, we are asking €25, 990. Part‑exchange and trade‑ins considered. Technical inspection: OK. Delivery available anywhere in France. 36‑month warranty. French registration as a collection vehicle. L’Atelier des 1000 specialises in buying and selling European sport and classic cars.
