This 1983 Range Rover 5-door is an outstandingly original, low mileage, low owner car that has been cared-for and cherished its entire life. This car was ordered new by the owner of a Peugeot/ Talbot dealership and kept by him for over 37 years, completing just 27, 000 miles in this time. Today the car has completed little over 28, 000 miles at the hands of just two registered keepers. The history file is extensive, dating all the way back to the original pricelists with various options circled prior to the car being ordered. In terms of options, the car is very highly equipped from factory with: wood trim, armrests front & rear, rear headrests, tailgate carpets, alloy wheels and more. The ‘teddy bear’ interior is completely original and in almost immaculate condition, as you’d expect from the mileage.
The Range Rover has had paint in its life but is is totally rust free with only a smattering of surface corrosion on underside and engine components. It has never been tarnished with underseal or any other thick coatings and, as such, all the original metalwork and components are visible - extremely rare on a classic Range Rover. We purchased the car several months ago and immediately sent it to a classic Land Rover specialist for checking over, they were undeniably impressed with the originality and ensured us it should be left completely as-is. In-fact their only note was for us to purchase and fit the correct Blockley tyres for it, which we now have.
Being 43 years old and unrestored, there are marks around the car and some light surface corrosion in places. However, we believe it would do injustice to the provenance of car to change any of this. Of course, if the new owner would prefer, we can protect the underside with clear wax of their choosing. Otherwise, the car is ready for a new chapter of life, whether that be in a cherished collection or being used as intended.
This car is registered as a historic vehicle and therefore is tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt. However, a fresh MOT can be arranged for peace of mind.
