The Aston Martin Vanquish V12 is a model highly regarded by today’s enthusiasts and by collectors of classic cars.
Its appearance in "Die Another Day" secured its place in James Bond history and helped make it an instantly recognisable model.
It is important to note that the Vanquish underwent enormous engineering and design developments, many of which formed the basis for the development of the current range of Aston Martin models.
It features a bodyshell of extruded aluminium and carbon fibre, with extensive use of carbon fibre and composite materials throughout the car’s structure.
This extremely rigid and safe bodyshell was then clad with superformed aluminium panels finished by hand.
Under the hand-built bonnet lies a version of the Aston Martin V12 engine, delivering its power through a six-speed manual gearbox controlled by an electrohydraulic paddle-shift.
Building on the commercial success of the original Vanquish, the Vanquish S is characterised by a power upgrade (from 460 bhp to 528 bhp) and revised gearbox ratios and rear axle.
Top speed was estimated at over 320 km/ h, making it one of the fastest Aston Martin road cars built at Newport Pagnell.
The model shown began its life as Aston Martin’s press car to introduce the model to the European press.
Once this mission was complete it was sold in Germany where it enjoyed peaceful days.
It was sold to a keen Luxembourgish enthusiast of the Newport Pagnell brand who still has it today.
Over the years it has received a magnificent set of wheels designed by the renowned London-born designer Kahn (the original wheels stay with the car), its pearlescent white paint with multiple reflections is strikingly effective.
Our in-depth inspection found no major faults on this splendid Vanquish S which has only covered 20, 500 km since delivery.
The body panels are perfectly aligned and show no waviness; the engine, gearbox, brakes and running gear have passed our tests successfully and perform their tasks with flying colours.
The Vanquish S has over the years become a legendary model from the era when the power of a naturally aspirated engine didn’t require the help of a turbocharger…
Its low mileage makes it a rare and desirable model.
