The Appeal
There can be few remaining 2200 TCs as good as this one. The vendor acquired it in 2021 and has undertaken a complete restoration that involved stripping the car to its shell and renovating or replacing virtually everything. Paintwork, interior, mechanicals, suspension and gearbox have all received extensive overhauling and upgrading. It has been barely used since completion.
The results can be inspected in the photos. Finished in white with professionally refitted vinyl roof, this is one great looking P6, with some neat features light auxiliary fog lights, grille badges and factory ‘Continental Touring’ kit.
Mechanically, the car is in great order. The gearbox has been rebuilt, and the clutch slave and master cylinders have been replaced. The suspension was fully rebuilt and upgraded to polybushes. It is fitted with an unleaded head conversion and electronic ignition.
An added advantage is that it is a manual gearbox 2200TC so has the later, more powerful 2.2L engine delivering 115bhp via its twin carburettors. These cars are getting rare and this one would grace any show, or make an excellent touring car.
The vendor says:
“Everything from the vinyl roof to the stainless exhaust has either been cleaned or replaced, even the heater motor and matrix and window wiper system. It needs little work to make very good.”
