The Appeal
To many, it’s the definitive hot hatchback. The Mk1 Golf GTI challenged everyone’s idea of what a performance car looked like; a car that would outperform a contemporary Ferrari on a country road but was still practical enough for the school run.
This 1982 example looks to be in quite remarkable order for its age. The shell looks very well-preserved and is finished in an exceedingly smart coat of glossy red paint. The Golf still sits on its OEM 5 ½ J alloy wheels, which look to have been refurbished to a high standard. While the interior looks almost as fresh as it would have done in 1982.
If you’re looking for a great example of this Volkswagen icon, this is the car to buy.
